The ministries at Good Shepherd are run entirely by your offerings of time and donations–and there are many ways to give!

Online Giving

Simple and secure. You can give a one-time gift or schedule automated online giving using your checking account, debit, or credit card.

One of the best and easiest ways to support our church’s financial well-being is through online giving. Consistent, automatic giving through our online platform makes it simple to contribute regularly.

How to Set Up Your Automated Online Gift

  1. Click “Give Now” on this page.

  2. Enter your gift amount.

  3. Change the frequency to “Regularly.”

  4. Choose your preferred giving frequency: Weekly, Monthly, etc.

  5. Complete the form and click “Continue.”

  6. Choose your payment method. (Entering your bank account routing information costs Good Shepherd only $0.30 per transaction. You can also choose Apple Pay or credit card, with the option to cover the fees yourself.)

Give by Cash or Check

Stop the Church Office, drop in the offering plate during worship, or mail your gift to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4000 28th St S, Moorhead, MN 56560.

Memorial & Honorarium Giving

Memorializing and honoring a loved one is a great way to remember them. We invite you to give a gift to Good Shepherd in memory or honor of someone who has touched your life.

Stop by the Church Office to get a purple envelope for your gift or mail your gift to the Church Office with a note sharing who you are remembering. If you would like to give a memorial/honorarium electronically, email Good Shepherd, and we will send you a direct link.

Sponsor a Good Shepherd Radio Broadcast

Honor your loved ones with a $250 donation in their name. Email Good Shepherd or call the Church Office to find an available day!

More Ways to Give

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your retirement account and typically avoid paying taxes on the donation.

If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you can recommend a grant to Good Shepherd directly from your account. This allows you to receive an immediate tax deduction when contributing to your DAF, and the sponsoring organization will send the donation to the church on your behalf. Simply log in to your DAF account, select Good Shepherd as the recipient, and specify the amount and designation (e.g., general fund, building fund).

You can also support the future of Good Shepherd by contributing to the Good Shepherd Trust Fund Endowment. Including this fund in your estate plan ensures the ministry you love will thrive for generations to come. For more information on the Trust Fund, please contact the Church Office or the ELCA Foundation.

Additionally, if you are subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), you can donate to Good Shepherd, avoiding the tax penalty while supporting the ministry.

Please consult your tax or financial professional for guidance on any of these giving options.

Whatever way you decide to support Good Shepherd, we appreciate you being a part of this mission!
